Living in Malaga: The Heart of the Costa del Sol.
Quality of life, an enviable climate, a great historical heritage and an irresistible growth are just some of the reasons why Malaga has become one of the best cities to live in.
The people of Malaga enjoy almost 300 days of sunshine a year, a figure unmatched in all of Spain and which makes Malaga a unique place with an excellent climate. It is a city that puts you in a good mood and is a good remedy against depression and sadness.
Nowadays, Malaga is fantastically commutable by land, sea and air. The International Airport of Malaga-Costa del Sol, also known as Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport, is only 8 km from the capital and can be reached in about 25 minutes, depending on the means of transport used. Thanks to the high-speed train (AVE), Malaga is connected to more than 10 Spanish cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Ciudad Real and Cordoba.

One of the reasons to live in Malaga is its gastronomy. Delicacies with a Mediterranean touch, very typical of the city, which will delight all palates. From the ajoblanco to the Malaga salad or the “camperos”, a kind of bread typical of the capital of the Costa del Sol, which became very popular in the 80s, with cheese, cooked ham, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and other ingredients to taste. The traditional espetos or porra antequerana are other excellent examples of Malaga’s rich gastronomy.
Few coastal cities can be as proud as Malaga for its beaches, appreciated by both locals and tourists. According to the Malaga City Council, there are 15 beaches that caress the capital of the Costa del Sol to the east and west of the port. La Malagueta is one of the best known, as it enjoys a privileged location on the outskirts of the historic center of the city. La Caleta and Baños del Carmen are other famous beaches in Malaga.
Malaga itself is a city brimming with beauty. Not only for its monuments, its sea and its beaches, but also for other places of interest: viewpoints such as Gibralfaro, beautiful parks and the promenade, to name just a few. It is also surrounded by beautiful towns and cities, ideal for short day or weekend trips: Mijas, Nerja, Ronda, Antequera and Ojen. Some of them are even included in the list of the most beautiful villages in Spain, such as Frigiliana and Casares, also included in the National Geographic list of the most beautiful villages in Spain.
The cost of living in Malaga is generally lower than in other cities. Compared to metropolises like Madrid or Barcelona, life in Malaga is up to 20% cheaper. This makes this beautiful city not only a much more affordable tourist destination, but also a perfect place to invest.
