Spain enjoys a mild climate, but you can still experience all 4 seasons, depending on which region you settle in. Costa del Sol enjoys the Mediterranean climate with four distinct seasons. The region lives up to its name and receives 325 days of sunshine in the year. July and August are the hottest months in the region, with the average daily max temperatures around 31 °C.
Family friendly culture; you feel safe in Spain! Spaniards are renowned for being welcoming and generous people. It is a common saying in Spain that “mi casa es tu casa” (my house is your house). And they prefer to socialise at public places so everywhere is a good place to meet new people!
Spanish history on every corner. Spaniards are renowned for being proud people with a deep love of Spain and a strong awareness of their personal honour. Their open and lively communication style often gives foreigners the impression that they are confident and enthusiastic people.
Food & beverage, mediterranean cuisine and tapas. Spain has a strong foodie culture, accompanied by a long held tradition of eating together, so lunch breaks in Spain tend to be long. Eating out in a restaurant in Spain is cheaper than going to a restaurant in many oither european countries. It also offers the cheapest alcohol of any Mediterranean country, so all those sunset aperitivos won’t break the bank. Spain offers Sangria, tapas, paella, seafood, wine and the best olive oil in Europe. And dinners outside in lovely terraces. Who doesn’t love dining outdoors with their loved ones? And with 320 days of sunshine on offer, there won’t be many days where you’ll have to eat indoors.
Breakfast with chocolate and churros. The Spanish love a sweet breakfast. An essential element to Spanish cuisine, churros are a favorite breakfast and snack for both children and adults alike. You simply can’t beat some fresh churros and hot chocolate on a cold, rainy morning, though they can be enjoyed at any time of the year.
Flamenco embodies the spirit of Andalucia, and Málaga is one of the places where you can witness an ancient tradition in its purest, most passionate form. . This flamboyant traditional dance originated in the area almost 500 years ago you can feel it in the Costa del Sol, Cadiz, Granada and the rest of Andalcusian cities.
Ferias. Spain celebrates 8 national holidays and 14 local ones, compared to UK’s 8 per year, and Germany’s 9. And all they do is with great art and lots of people, music, dance and traditional clothes.
Local Markets. From the historic food markets to the weekly street markets held in nearly every village, town and coastal resort in Spain, if you’re looking for fresh local produce at a reasonable price, from fish to citrus fruit, there will be a nearby market to feed your appetite.
Music Concerts & Festivals. With warm weather and one of the most attractive plans for many people: music festivals. There are a lot of music appointments along the country, with different styles but a common point: entertain you with light and sound spectacles that you will remember for a long time. Are you ready to dance?
Beaches. From the pristine sands in the north, to secret coves in the Balearics and Canary Islands, to the bustling beaches of the Costa Del Sol and Costa Brava, Spain offers more than 7,500km of coastline with more than 3,000 beaches to choose from. There´s a beach here to suit everyone!
Golf. Spain is tee-riffic for golfers. There are currently 398 golf courses in Spain, with more than 70 located on the Costa Del Sol.
White villages. Andalucia is famous for its “pueblos blancos”, the most famous of which is the beautiful town of Ronda. We also love Nerja, Frigiliana and Vejer de la Frontera which boasts a delicious foodie offering.
Siestas, long lunches, even longer dinners with family and friends, chilling on the beach, Spain is where you go to experience a laid back lifestyle. And apart from all these, in Spain you will live longer! The average lifespan of a resident in Spain is currently 83.38 years whilst that of a British resident is 81.60, in France it’s 82.5, in Germany it’s 80.9, in the Netherlands its 82.01, while in the USA its 79.7 years.
