Marbella: a gastronomic paradise with international influences

In recent years, Marbella has become a gastronomic hub in its own right, offering a wide variety of cuisines, environments, and culinary experiences. And the latest generation of restaurants adds a new twist to this ongoing evolution.

Local cuisine is rooted in Spanish and Andalusian traditions, such as tapas bars, seafood restaurants, as well as a variety of lively breakfast cafes, lunch spots, and classic fine-dining restaurants serving the best of Spanish cuisine. In addition, there is a wide range of international cuisines from all over Europe, Asia, and beyond, ranging from casual establishments to high-end places like Nobu at the Puente Romano.

One of the highlights of this season is undoubtedly the opening of Beso Beach with its Balearic-style beach club concept, featuring a very elegant and cozy boho-chic decor and atmosphere perfect for a beachfront location. At Beso Beach, you can enjoy seafood, from shrimp and lobsters to fresh fish and caviar, along with a variety of additional options for other palates, and of course, vegetarian preferences. In terms of beachy summer style and relaxed refinement, it’s going to be hard to beat.

Barbillón Beach Club arrives this summer in Marbella with the guarantee of success it has already achieved in the capital. Since early June, this 4,000-square-meter oasis in the Guadalmina Baja development of San Pedro de Alcántara will open its doors to offer impeccable sea views and an unforgettable experience of sharing and enjoying with family, friends, or as a couple. Barbillón’s gastronomic proposal is a mixture of cultures with a predominance of Japanese cuisine, as evidenced by its star dishes, such as the fried nigiri of steak tartare with quail egg, the Japanese tempura prawn tails, or its Arabian cake. You can also enjoy the classic rice dishes and local seafood typical of the Marbella coast.

Bungalow Marbella is a cocktail bar and restaurant that is contemporary and timeless at the same time. The latest comes from its natural materials and relaxed atmosphere, with a menu inspired by beach life, both the one just a few hundred meters away and the one found on far-off tropical coasts, where the pace of life is delightfully slow and calm.

Nu Downtown is a place that goes beyond being just a restaurant. In fact, it’s a meeting point that doesn’t look like a restaurant at first glance, as you enter through a food boutique before reaching the various dining spaces, which extend into a bar and lounge area, and an outdoor chill-out and meeting area.

Kemuri is a tavern that offers a fusion of Mediterranean and Japanese flavors. At night, it turns into “Kurai,” a clandestine cocktail bar with an author-inspired menu inspired by the history of Japan’s Five National Treasures. The atmosphere is designed with a play of light and shadow typical of Japanese architecture, with stones, rough stuccos, dark woods, and sliding paper doors. The culinary offer includes a selection of 40 sakes and a very special liquid proposal directed by the Group’s Bar Manager and his bar team. Kemuri is the first Japanese restaurant of the Dani García Group and is inspired by the cuisine of chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
